Position Objective :

Responsible for all technical aspects of centrifugal and axial flow pump design from creating new designs or optimizing existing design using CFD software, to troubleshooting performance issues with released pumps.

Responsible to ensure new and existing pumps provide best in class performance.

Roles & Responsibilities :

  • Work as a principal resource in the Engineering R&D department regarding hydraulic stage and pump design.
  • Create new 3D stage geometry to meet technical requirements using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software and accurately predict resultant stage performance.
  • Direct activities related to creating rapid prototype parts for testing of prospective stage designs.
  • Direct activities related to creating metal cast stages for production pumps and provide advice on type of stage tooling to create, i.

e. investment casting, or sand casing, or metal forming process.

  • Develop new pumps, gas separation devices, and gas handling devices per technical specifications.
  • Manage multiple projects, taking responsibility for on time and on budget delivery of proven design solutions.
  • Generate test plans and contribute in test equipment design verification.
  • Analyze test data to determine if the product meets predetermined technical specifications.
  • Perform analysis to verify effectiveness and suitability of proposed design solutions.
  • Exercise of judgment is required on details of work, in making selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives and in making decisions about project management and scheduling.
  • Carry out any necessary test programs to ensure reliability and sustainability of the product.
  • Compile engineering reports and present data, where necessary, to the management team.
  • Work within defined parameters to make decisions and apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity.
  • Lead internal design activities and technical decisions and participate in design reviews with the engineering team.
  • Manage and control the engineering hours allocated to the job and drawing list to be submitted to customers.
  • Support fabrication of equipment including troubleshooting, product improvement, and product inspection. Devise new approaches to problems encountered
  • Prevent or eliminates defects in new or existing products.
  • Anticipate possible failure modes on products and recommends solutions based on experience.
  • Perform comprehensive analysis of critical components to eliminate possible failure modes.
  • Capable of clearly articulating the technical and commercial viability of various alternatives.
  • Personally observe safety and security procedures and proper use of equipment and material. Actively promote safety process and report any safety issues to proper channels for action.

Required Education :

Bachelor's Degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent years of directly related experience.

Experience :

Minimum of 15 years of engineering in area of expertise required

Demonstrated ability to create commercial centrifigual pump stage designs covering radial, mixed, and axial flow stages.

Knowledge of oilfield industry in multiple segments is required.

Skills :

Ability to follow the company's IMS (in accordance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & ISO 45001) policies and procedures at all times

Proficient computer skills with knowledge of MS Office and / or company specific databases

Good written and oral communication skills

Proven innovator

Exhibit leadership and can make effective, reliable and appropriate decisions and judgments without supervision or assistance

Ability to work well with all levels of personnel

Able to work well with deadlines and excellent organizational skills

Highly competent in production engineering, analysis, and testing roles

Requires an understanding of both theories and principles.

Other :

Normal office environment and occasional exposure to plant environment

Occasionally required to move about the facility

Occasional travel and on call required

Use of personal protective equipment is mandatory

This is a safety sensitive position.
