Position Summary
The Pathologists’ Assistant Department in the College of Health Professions at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science is seeking to fill a full-time Instructor position.
Working as a member of our team, the Instructor will participate in a variety of activities that sustain the educational mission of the department with an emphasis on education within the simulated laboratory environment.
The applicant should provide a curriculum vitae, letter of interest, statement of teaching philosophy and experience, and the names of three individuals who are familiar with applicant’s grossing and teaching abilities that are willing to provide letters of reference.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
All full-time faculty members employed by RFUMS are expected to engage in activities that are considered core to their primary role as a faculty member.
These activities may include teaching, scholarly activity, and service.

Scholarly activities are determined at the department level and are primarily based upon the faculty track.
The successful candidate will teach inter and intra-departmental courses, participate in department, college and university committees, serve as a student advisor, be involved in alumni engagement, travel for site visits as needed, and engage in scholarly activity.
Additional duties will be assigned to support the department and program as appropriate.
Required Education & Experience
Master’s degree from a NAACLS-accredited Pathologists’ Assistant program.
ASCP certified
Experience in interprofessional collaboration.
Conditions of Employment

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Ability to prioritize and organize numerous and varied assignments.
Computer proficiency in various programs, including Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Power Point, Word, Excel, etc.) and Google suite (e.
g. Drive, Sheets, Docs, Slides, Forms, etc.).
Ability to quickly learn various educational learning management systems.
Candidate will possess excellent transferrable skills including but not limited to : critical thinking, time management, written and verbal communication, organization, etc.

Display professionalism, and maintain confidentiality and privacy.
Commitment to working and interacting with diverse populations and be sensitive to cultural differences.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in surgical and autopsy pathology as a practicing Pathologists’ Assistant.
Experience teaching in a laboratory environment to individuals of various learning styles.
Laboratory Management experience.
Experience with online educational learning management systems.
