About The Position
Job Title : Physical Therapist Job Specialty : Outpatient Job Duration : 13-week contract Shift : Day shift Guaranteed Hours : 40 hours per week Experience : Minimum years of experience required License : State license in Physical Therapy required.
Compact License acceptable if the worker is in a state that is part of the PT Compact agreement. Certifications : Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required Must-Have : Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy program Job Description : Evaluate, plan, direct, and administer programs of physical therapy to restore function, prevent disability, and enhance physical and functional abilities.
- Evaluate patients using appropriate assessment techniques, establish patient care plans, and administer necessary modalities and procedures.
- Gather and interpret data from medical records, physician reports, and patient and family input.- Establish functional goals in collaboration with patients, providing evidence-based intervention and ongoing assessment to adjust care plans as needed.
- Document evaluations, tests, progress notes, daily treatment notes, attendance records, patient / family education, outcomes, discharge notes, and charges as needed.
- Communicate patient evaluations and progress with physicians, referral sources, and other clinical staff; coordinate patient schedules, treatment programs, and discharge planning.
- Provide supervision of Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs) and Rehab Aides as required for licensure.- Work in a fast-paced clinical environment, requiring physical activities such as sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, kneeling, and bending.
- Lift patients, equipment, or supplies up to 20 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally; laterally transfer patients up to 100 pounds rarely.
- Demonstrate appropriate exercises and activities to patients and caregivers.- Utilize personal protective equipment when required due to possible exposure to hazardous chemicals or bodily fluids.
