Production Technician - Bicycle & Ski / Snow

Summary
The Production Technician is responsible for the timely and accurate assembly, quality control, and packaging of bicycles to Erik's quality standards for both distribution to Erik's Bike Shop, Inc retail locations and direct shipment to customers.
The seasonal maintenance and order preparation of both Erik's lease program and customer skis and snowboards are also required.
Position Details
The primary responsibilities and areas of impact of this position include, but are not limited to :
Department Performance
- Complete the efficient assembly of bicycles accurately, and on-time, to Erik's approved standards.
- Complete quality control checks and enforce quality standards for other staff member's assembled bicycles and sporting goods equipment.
- Complete the building, boxing, and shipping steps required for "Ship to customer" bicycle and equipment orders.
- Complete bicycle and equipment warranty work, and special projects as directed.
- Complete ski and snowboard lease program preparation and customer repair services as directed.
- Provide feedback to the Assembly Department Management and Leads related to efficient production workflow and technique.
Department Operations
- Responsible for following all company policies and procedures.
- Organize and maintain tools and workspaces daily to department standards.
- Assist with light janitorial duties such as sweeping, mopping, shared tool organization, and the removal of trash and cardboard as directed.
Development
- Continually open to ongoing coaching and training to better yourself and the Assembly department.
- Obtain advanced technical skill and equipment certifications as assigned by Assembly Department Management.
- Accept new assignments when Erik's product and service offerings expand to meet consumer demand.
Individual Standards
- Maintain production, efficiency, and quality ratings at, or above, all minimum department standards.
- Continually meet mandatory attendance requirements.
- Continually strive for excellent communication and swift conflict resolution in a fast-paced, team-oriented work setting with exceptional quality and production standards.
Position Requirements
Experience
Prior mechanical experience in the bicycle, motorcycle, automotive, or construction trades preferred.
Skills
- Ability to communicate and interact with a diverse population.
- Mechanically inclined with problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Strong aptitude with mechanical hand-tools and repetitive mechanical tasks.
- Present a strong customer service focus.
- Ability to multitask and change focus as needed.
- Knowledge of computers and technology.
- Dedication to get the job done.
Working Conditions
- Ability to stand and use hands to complete mechanical productions and product handling for up to 8 hours per day, 5 days a week.
- Ability to lift up to 80 lbs while utilizing appropriate equipment and safety techniques repeatedly throughout the full-time workday (5 times per hour).
- Exposure to various chemicals such as grease, cleaning solutions, and ski / snowboard cleaning and waxing agents.
