What You Will Do
The SaaS Continuity Engineering team is responsible for the design and build of the systems and services that enables Oracle to deliver industry-leading availability and performance objectives for Oracle’s SaaS services.
The team architects and develops high-availability and service continuity solutions across the entire stack infrastructure, database, platform, and application services and all the dependent components.
The engineering innovations enable SaaS services to be available to customers without any disruptions during any small or large-scale incidents.
We are building the next-gen service continuity solutions in a fast-pace and innovative environment and looking for engineers who can develop chaos engineering solutions that can operate at scale.
Your tasks include :
- Design and execute CHAOS experiments to simulate real-world failures and assess system resilience
- Design major features and launching them into production
- Triage and prioritize issues based on impact and severity
- Design services that are highly available, scalable, and redundant.
- Balance speed and quality with iteration and incremental improvements.
- Understand operational excellence and how to instill a culture of being proactive with your teammates.

Required Qualifications
- BS / MS in Computer Science or related fields
- 6+ years software engineering experience in a distributed cloud environment
- Proficiency in CHAOS testing methodologies and tools
- Experience with distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and microservices architecture.
- Experience with scalability testing, ensuring applications perform optimally under heavy loads.
- Strong understanding of fault injection, latency testing, and stress testing.
- Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools to analyze system behavior during CHAOS testing.
- Proven track record of identifying and diagnosing system weaknesses through CHAOS testing.
- Ability to triage and prioritize issues based on impact and severity.
- Creative thinking to devise novel CHAOS scenarios that challenge system robustness.
- Effective interpersonal skills to document findings, share insights, and collaborate with partner teams.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams to improve system reliability.
- Ability to articulate CHAOS testing results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong experience in designing and implementing chaos testing for large scale services
- Hands-on experience developing services on a public cloud platform (Examples : AWS, Azure, GCP, Oracle)
- Experience with cloud infrastructure services, regions, and multi-AD designs
- Experience collaborating across engineering organizations

US : Hiring Range : from $96,800 to $251,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
