Patent Coordinator
Description & Requirements
Womble Bond Dickinson (US) LLP, a transatlantic law firm, seeks a Patent Coordinator for their North or South Carolina office.
This role will support members of the Intellectual Property Practice Group focused on patent prosecution.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
Prepare and file US patent applications
Provide legal administrative support for patent prosecution (working with attorneys and patent agents to prepare and file prosecution papers)
Attend to various patent-related formalities (Powers of Attorney, responses to pre-examination notices, papers to make corrections, etc.)
Manage collection and filing of formal documents (inventor declarations, assignments)
Prepare and file Information Disclosure Statements
Review Patent Term Adjustment determinations, proofing patents, filing Certificates of Correction, and similar activities
Special projects as needed (handling portfolio transfers, client reports, etc.)
Enter billable time, docket management, and file maintenance.
REQUIREMENTS :
Bachelor's degree and at least one to two years of patent-related experience preferred.
The candidate must have excellent computer skills and a strong knowledge of standard office software (e.g., MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat).
Must have great attention to detail and a disciplined eye for quality checking document accuracy.
