Professional Engineer (P.E.) Civil/Structural/Mechanical - Special Inspector

Objective Responsibility :

Perform Special Inspections to verify compliance with design documents and NYC Building Code requirements. Primarily, but not exclusively, in NYC and surrounding boroughs

Duties :

As a Professional Engineer (P.E.) - Civil / Structural / Mechanical - you will be expected to Provide Special Inspection services at construction sites to review work in progress, inspect materials, check the method of installation and document field inspection findings.

In addition, review drawings and submittals for conformance with project requirements. Complete field observations at appropriate intervals to review status and compliance of installed work.

Report of all Field Inspection observations should be done in a timely manner, same day or day after, and provide quality and clarity to all end users to allow them to rectify any non-conformance expeditiously.

Manage and track non-compliance items and ensures completion through coordination with contractors, design professionals and stakeholders.

When not on Field Inspections you will be expected to assist with project and operational work that may involve research, compliance, plan review, estimating etc.

Experience :

• REQUIRED : Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) - (Civil / Structural / Mechanical).
• 1+ year with field inspection experience for an exceptional candidate, or...
• 3+ years field inspection experience.
• Additional Special Inspection certifications (ICC, ACI, AWS, NICET) etc. a plus.
• ICC or AWS Certified Welding certification a plus.
• Experience with MS Office, PlanGrid / AutoDesk Build, and Salesforce are a plus.
