8162 S Priest Dr, Tempe, Arizona 85284 United States of AmericaUnder the direction of the Administration Manager, or the Manager of Building Maintenance, perform general repairs and maintenance to physical structure and grounds at the U-Haul Technical Center.
Check and order supplies as necessary.
Essential duties :
Reasonable and predictable attendance is essential.
General Repairs and Maintenance : Replace glass, defective locks and defective electrical fixtures. Perform general plumbing repairs and minor service on air conditioning and heating units, replacing filters, fuses, and switches as necessary.
Maintain and repair evaporative coolers. Install air and water lines. Maintain and repair overhead hydraulic door units.
Grounds Maintenance : Maintain lawn, trees and flowers. Apply fertilizers and insecticides; ensure grounds are watered properly and according to schedule.
Repair fences, sidewalks, walls and gates. Perform minor repair to roads and parking lots at facility. Ensure trash and any hazardous materials are disposed of with caution.
Carpentry / Millwright : Perform carpentry, painting, furniture and small equipment repair. Upon receipt of work orders, relocate doors, window openings, partitions, etc.
Replace damaged floor and ceiling tiles. Repair damaged walls and relocate office furniture, file cabinets, etc.
Monitor work performed by outside contractors and security company personnel as required. Advise Supervisor of any problems.
Education / Training Requirements :
Broad shop background in general maintenance and carpentry equivalent to complete accredited apprenticeship training.

Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a good driving record to operate motor vehicles with both types of transmission (automatic or standard).
Adhere to all local vehicular regulations while driving.
Must maintain good housekeeping practices in the work area and comply with all safety rules and procedures. It is mandatory that all accidents and injuries be reported immediately to supervisor.
Maintain just-in-time production methods, along with total quality control at the source of the work being performed.
Must read company publications such as U-Haul News , policy bulletins, and other publications provided by supervisor, to understand U-Haul’s Primary Service Objective (to provide a better and better product and service to more and more people at a lower and lower cost).
Use integrity and discretion in safeguarding confidential data handled or obtained in the normal performance of duties.
Perform other duties as required or assigned including assisting in the recovery of lost or stolen U-Haul property and equipment.
The person assigned to this job is subject to performing any duties relating to serving the customer.
