Position Overview
The student multimedia specialist assists with all aspects of technology training and supports the Multimedia Services department a division of the Office of Information Technology.
Hours per Week
- Flexible Work Schedule, Monday through Friday, 8 : 00am-9 : 00pm
- Evening and Weekend work as needed
- Up to 25 hours per week during fall and spring semesters
- Up to 35 hours during semester breaks
Department Specific Job Functions
- The position assists Technology Staff in providing a high level of customer service to Faculty, Staff, and Students at UCO
- Assist with Multimedia requests, set up audio visual equipment for presentations, troubleshoot and maintain multimedia equipment across campus
- Assist staff with audio visual equipment check out program and streaming media services
- Assist technology trainers with room setup for training classes
- Light Cleaning Duties
Enrollment Requirements
Fall / Spring Semesters : All student employees must be enrolled at least half time to be eligible to work any UCO student position.
Half time enrollment for Fall / Spring is considered 5 hours for graduates and 6 hours for undergraduates. International students shall be enrolled full time to be eligible to work as a student worker.
Full time enrollment is 9 credit hours for graduates and 12 credit hours for undergraduates.
Summer Semester : Student employees working regular student positions must be enrolled in at least 3 credit hours to be eligible to work during the summer.
Students not enrolled in summer classes must be enrolled in Fall classes in order to work on campus, but they (and the department) will be required to pay FICA taxes.
Student employees working FWSP positions must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours (if undergraduate) or 5 credit hours (if graduate) in order to work during the summer in a Federal Work Study Program position.
Enrollment Exception : If the number of credit hours needed to graduate is less than the minimum number of hours required for student employment, the student must obtain a letter from their Academic Advisor (stating the number of hours needed to graduate and anticipated graduation date) and submit it to Human Resources.

Qualifications / Experience Required
- Minimum 6 credit hours enrolled for spring, Fall Semesters
- The desired Candidate must be responsible and reliable
- Experience in delivering high quality customer service that includes a grasp on professional communication and telephone etiquette
- Familiar with apple final cut and other video editing and encoding / transcoding software
- The candidate should have Experience with AV equipment such as laptops, projectors, cameras, tripods, microphones, PA systems etc.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
- Candidate must have knowledge of administrative and clerical systems such as word processing, managing files and records, and other office procedures and terminology.
- Some knowledge of audio-visual technology and multimedia applications
- Ability to work well with others on a team
