Position Overview
The Director CDMS is the clinical expert to support the Medical Education, Clinical, and Commercial departments. The Director CDMS is responsible for developing General and Plastic Surgeon thought leaders and new applications of TELA Bio’s current and future product portfolio.
The Director is responsible for ensuring partner regions achieve their corporate goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as the clinical expert to support sales force initiatives.
- Partner with the Regional Sales Manager in assigned geographic region(s) and area(s) to strategize and execute regional and corporate goals.
- Work closely with Territory Managers and surgeons to facilitate best practices for the safe and effective adoption of the Company’s product portfolio within hospital accounts.
- Provide clinical support and expertise to Territory Managers in current and new accounts to further develop effective utilization of TELA Bio products, including case coverage during adoption phase.
- Introduce new technology to surgeons, as may be applicable.
- Initiate new hospital accounts by championing access through Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs).
- Develop General and Plastic Surgeon advocates that can be developed into future peer-to-peer educators.
- Identify surgeons whose experience is worthy of case reports and publications for marketing.
- Work with Supply Chain, Materials Management, Hospital Administrators, and New Products Committees.
- Assist with the development of new products for applications in General and Plastic Surgery.
- Work closely with the Marketing and Strategic Marketing teams on new applications and KOL development projects.
- Attend and participate in industry meetings and tradeshows.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree (B.S. or B.A.) or higher
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Minimum of 8 years clinical experience in soft tissue reconstruction, preferably OR based.
- Participation in multiple new product launches.
- Successful experience with start-up companies in introducing new technologies to potential users and future advocates.
- Support sales in initiating and growing sales through clinical expertise.
- Proven success and experience in clinical and market development.
- Experience in developing new clinical applications and working with surgeons at prestigious academic centers.
- Ability to work with Key accounts / National accounts.
- Expectation to be in the field working approximately 3-4 days per week.
OTHER : This position is field-based and requires frequent travel. Successful candidate must have a valid driver’s license and will be subject to DMV and other required background and reference checks.
