Director and Teaching Faculty : Program in Museums and Society, Johns Hopkins University

The Program in Museums and Society at Johns Hopkins University invites applications for the position of Director. The Program, established in 2006 and now administering a small but thriving interdisciplinary minor, seeks in its second director a teacher / scholar to put her or his stamp on its curriculum and activities.

The challenges and opportunities of this role include developing strong, sustained relations with Johns Hopkins University’s museums and with select additional museums and other cultural organizations in the Baltimore area, with the aim of building connections that will provide educational and internship opportunities for students.

In addition to the obligations of the directorship, this appointment comes with a teaching obligation of 3 courses per year.

This position is offered as a teaching track appointment at the rank of lecturer, senior lecturer, associate teaching professor, or teaching professor in accordance with experience and qualifications.

Qualifications

A Ph.D. in a relevant academic field is required.
