ARL Care Services, Inc is a licensed Adult Residential Facility corporation doing business as Ballentine Residential Care.
We provide 24hr care for people with behavioral challenges and co-occurring disorders. We are in search of reliable compassionate people who are interested in having a positive impact on the lives of others.
Job Description :
- Work with consumers in a home environment.
- Provide a loving, caring and nurturing environment for the consumers.
- Assist consumers with all personal needs, on an as needed base.
- Cook all meals and prepare snacks and lunches.
- Comply with and implement the home’s Care Plan, & IRC IPP Goals
- Educate consumers on;
- Social and coping skills
- Self help
- Appropriate social interaction
- Life Quality Goals
- Consumer Rights
- Laundry items for consumers and the home
- Shopping foods (when requested)
- Maintain all consumers logs, fill out inspection logs
- Maintain a safe’ family environment for everyone in the home
Qualifications :
- Must be at least 18 years of age (per licensing requirement).
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent; ability to meet licensing requirements for working with individuals with a developmental disability;
or any equivalent combination of directly related education and experience preferred.
- Prior experience supporting persons with developmental disabilities preferred.
- Perform standard First Aid and CPR, perform crisis intervention techniques in accordance with the mandated training, and fulfill Title 17 and Title 22 requirements.
- Able to work flexible schedules : weekends, nights, days, evenings, partial shifts, 8-12 hour shifts.
- May need to be available by phone for easy access by agency personnel.
- Must pass and maintain Fingerprinting clearance.
- A valid California driver's license
- Knowledge of effective communication strategies and ability to communicate positively with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Knowledge of human behavior and developmental disabilities.
- Knowledge of individual-choice, person centered planning.
- Knowledge of the function of replacement behaviors, and behavioral support plans.
- Knowledge of the responsibilities of an advocate.
- Knowledge of safety precautions used in transportation.
- Knowledge of behavioral intervention strategies; knowledge of basic home health functions including nutrition and personal hygiene techniques.
- Knowledge of monitoring strategies for observing medical conditions and a keen ability to observe changes in a participant's condition and / or to observe medical issues.
- Basic knowledge of medications and their side-effects.
- Basic knowledge of HIPAA requirements.
- Ability to safely and effectively perform housekeeping tasks, basic home health functions, nutrition and personal hygiene techniques.
- Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with a variety of people.
- Ability to teach and demonstrate proper techniques in accordance with policies and procedures and injury and illness prevention program.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to operate common office equipment, including, but not limited to, computer, fax, copier and telephone system.
- Ability to travel away from the primary work location as needed.
Salary : $12.00- $13.00 / hour
