Alabama State University, College of Liberal Arts and Social Science / Department of Communications, invites applications for a tenure-track position of Assistant or Associate Professor of Multimedia Broadcasting / Production.
The selected candidate will teach courses in the radio and television concentration to include advanced multimedia news writing, introduction to broadcast production, radio / tv announcing, radio programming and production, law of communication, electronic newsgathering and advanced broadcast news reporting, advanced television production with a minimum teaching load of 4 courses per term, totaling 12 credit hours.
The selected candidate will also participate in academic advising of students, curriculum development and curriculum updates / revision, develop and participate in departmental projects and events, contribute to the development of teaching materials, serve on department, college and university-wide committees, attend departmental meeting and college meetings, maintain office hours ( minimum of 10 hours per week Monday - Friday), administer student surveys and gather data per Title III.
A terminal degree in Multi-Media Broadcasting and Production or other closely related discipline, 2 years of teaching experience at the collegiate level in the aforementioned teaching area, and a minimum of 2 years of professional industry experience in the multimedia and broadcasting field.
Must have working experience with digital media tools and integrating these tools into their teaching.
It is to be noted that for the purpose of continuous improvement of faculty qualifications as faulty members complete advanced degrees, certifications, licenses, etc.
the faculty member will send official documentation, within 45 days of hire, to the Office of Human Resources, and the credentialing file in Academic Affairs.
