The May Center Home, School, and Center Based Program in Western Massachusetts is currently accepting resumes for a full-time Speech Language Pathologist based out of our West Springfield office to provide direct services for our Early Intervention program.

This is a full- time position with a Monday-Friday schedule!

Early Intervention is a program funded through the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) that provides supports to children from birth to age 3.

  • A child may be eligible for services if s / he has a developmental delay. This could mean that he or she is not saying many words;
  • not sitting, crawling or walking when expected; has a diagnosed disability such as Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, or autism;

and / or lives in an environment that would put him or her at risk for developing delays.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct services to children for whom therapy supports are identified in their Individual Family Service Plan
  • Complete a specific assessment to document child’s status
  • Collaborate with parent to develop specific functional outcomes using family friendly terminology
  • Maintain on going contact with child’s service coordinator to ensure consistency in service delivery
  • Train and provide consultation to staff as needed
  • Attend IFSP and school meetings
  • Document session notes after each visit
  • Supervise students in their clinical fellowship year

Qualifications

  • Current licensure by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology and a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) granted by the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association
  • 2 years experience supporting infants and toddlers preferred
  • Knowledge of child development
  • Must have reliable transportation
