JOB SUMMARY
Provides classroom support for a co-teacher and support staff as they guide the classroom through a lesson by preparing materials, interacting with students and supervising projects.
Assists in the daily management and supervision of the classroom and children, as directed by the classroom teachers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Facilitates and supervises children during all activities.
Counsel children when social, academic or adjustment problems arise.
- Develops plans and prepares instructional aids and materials for classroom activities.
- Ensures that the appearance, cleanliness, and safe environment of the classroom are appropriately maintained, in accordance with NAEYC cleaning and sanitizing guidelines.
- Assists children with mealtimes and clean-up.
- Assists with all academy and classroom paperwork : for example, daily notes, accident reports, daily procedures checklists, assessments, and attendance reports mostly on the Tadpoles App.
- Attends and participates in staff meetings, academy events, and parent meetings as requested.
- Assists with preparation and implementation of classroom lesson plans, programs, and schedules.
- Ensures that all classroom and outdoor equipment are in good working condition and are used and maintained properly. Use Name to face for all transitions of children going in and out of the classroom.
- Responsible for attending workshops, conferences, and in-service training.
- Reports any problems to the management team and follows the chain of command.
- Reports to direct supervisor and / or director when not able to attend work.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accepts temporary work assignments in the event regularly scheduled personnel is not available : for example, may answer telephones at the front desk, or may assist supervisor with doing headcounts, or cover for a teacher who calls out, temporarily leaves, or goes on vacation.
- Assists with planning and implementing academy-wide events, such as graduation, open houses, fall festivals etc.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Schedule Available : 9 AM-6 PM
- Must meet state requirements for the position.
- Must possess 15 college units; including infant / toddler unites (mandatory); high school diploma; or higher and / or degree in early education and / or 2+ years of experience preferred.
- Candidates must have a clear background check to qualify for employment and understand that random drug tests may be required.
- Must be able to lift no less than 40 pounds on a consistent basis throughout the workday to at least waist high.

Negative TB, Proof of MMR & DTAP, Social Security, State ID, Physician Report, Criminal Record Report
Within first 90 days of employment
