Responsibilities
TECHNICAL TASKS Conducts fitness center business appropriately. Effectively supervises the performance of exercise. Teaches correct exercise techniques.
Demonstrates complete understanding of fitness center policies and procedures. Develops and implements strategies to increase participation in instructor-led exercise.
CRITICAL THINKING Consults with the Fitness Center leader in an uncertain or unusual situation regarding procedures and policies.
Always attempts to understand the needs of others, applicants, employees, salespeople, and the general public. Demonstrates the ability to assess a situation, consider the alternatives and choose the appropriate course of action.
Always reports any problems with normal workflow to the leader.
- INTERPERSONAL RELATIONS Deals effectively with clients while always remaining tactful and friendly. Always maintains a professional and courteous manner while answering the telephone.
- Other duties as assigned. Consistently performs 12 organizational Service Standards focused on Values, Service and Quality
Qualifications
Experience - Experience in dealing with exercise instruction.
Training - Certified Group Exercise Leader
Special Skills - Must have basic knowledge of equipment used in physical training and conditioning of healthy populations and persons with chronic disease.
Must have basic knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.
Exercise Instructor
