Job Title : Certified Weld Inspector
Department : Quality Control
Reports to : Senior Manager - Quality
Location : Onsite, Hillsboro, OR
Job Summary :
As a CWI, you will join the quality team to provide a high degree of expertise regarding the in-process and final inspection of a variety of tubing, piping, machined, and fabricated components.
You will work with the QA / QC Team, Engineering, Production, and Account Management to ensure conformance of finished goods, raw material and in process work to company, national and customer specifications.
Job Responsibilities :
- Perform part and weld inspection, both in and out of cleanroom environment
- Performs basic non-destructive examination of welds
- Manage welder qualifications, PQRs and other weld related documentation
- Thoroughly document inspection results and state of product compliance
- Inspect raw material and finished parts to drawings and applicable standards using precision measuring tools, gauges, and other required tooling
- Document non-conformances and assist with root cause, corrective and preventative action development and implementation as necessary
- Provide mentorship and support to team members in and out of the quality department
- Perform reviews of new business to assess state of compliance and feasibility
- Support preparing operations for newly identified compliance requirements

- Capable of reading plans, drawings, specifications, and work orders to determine inspection and product requirements.
- Ability to translate standards into digestible guidelines in a fast-paced setting, while ensuring compliance
- Ability to communicate technical knowledge in a clear and understandable manner
- Knowledge of applicable welding codes including the BPVC, ASME IX, B31.3, and D1.6 (preferred)
- Knowledge of non-destructive inspection techniques
- Self-motivated, self-directed, while possessing a team player
Qualifications :
- AWS Certified Welding Inspector (Current)
- 2 years of Quality Control and / or Assurance within manufacturing, fabrication, or applicable field required (4 preferred)
Physical Requirements :
- Prolonged periods sitting, standing, or walking
- Work conditions may include areas of restricted movement, air contamination, intense noise, and hazardous materials
- Must be able to regularly lift to 50 pounds at once
- Working in a cleanroom
