The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing care to patients through the utilization of the nursing process, technology, and resources within the institution's philosophy.
Duties include patient assessment, plan of care development, patient care procedures, maintaining accurate documentation, ensuring patient and employee safety, and effective communication within the healthcare team.
- Receive patient Bedside Shift Report at the beginning of each shift
- Delegate patient care tasks to assigned HCT's and validate completion
- Complete and document basic RN patient care activities
- Provide patient medications following the 5 Rights
- Maintain patient safety as the highest priority
- Promptly answer patient call lights and triage patient requests
- Use critical thinking to evaluate patient condition
- Effectively communicate within the healthcare team
