Description
SAIC is seeking a Ground System Engineer with a strong background in space related ground architectures supporting a customer with responsibilities as chief engineer.
The qualified candidate should be familiar with space system ground segment acquisitions and related Operations & Maintenance (O&M) of those systems.
The successful candidate will provide direct support for major program acquisitions. This program procures satellite vehicles with associated ground segments.
The ground segment consists of ground command and control (C2) software & hardware, Automated Data Processing Equipment (ADPE) and virtualized technologies.
This individual will provide primary support to the development branch. Activities leverage understanding of full life-cycle system support, from procurement to O&M, including system design and development through delivery, requirements analysis, requirements tracking, installation, and sell-off.
Qualifications
- Experience in full life cycle support with an IC or DoD acquisition program office
- Experience with ground segment of space program office
- Experience evaluating proposals, budgets, and master schedules
- Experience with activities involving hardware and software integration
- Experience in request for change (RFC) processes
- Understanding of requirements validation and verification methods
- Experience in ground architecture design
- Experience in organizing meetings, project coordination, and writing / reviewing technical reports
- Experience in risk management planning and mitigation
- Active TS / SCI clearance with CI Polygraph
- Bachelor's degree and 14 years or more experience; Master's degree and 12 years or more experience; PhD and 9 years or more experience
- Possess the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to travel overseas
