Senior Linux Systems Engineer
A global Financial Services Company offering market leading trading platforms, including order management, data analytics, and algo trading platforms is currently seeking a Senior Linux Systems Engineer.
This person will manage the day-to-day operations of infrastructure and automate the delivery of existing and new infrastructure services in order to support large scale Linux, Windows, SAN storage, and virtualization environments.
You will use scripting (Python, Bash) to automate enhancements to facilitate improvements to platform stability, as well as troubleshoot enterprise-level hardware.
You will act as a hands-on technical advisor and resource to team members, as well as collaborating with and working closely alongside internal teams and stakeholders across the organization, and therefore this role will require a team player who is comfortable working a highly collaborative environments.
You will have :
- Expert operating systems management skills, with a proven background in Linux (RHEL / CentOS) administration.
- Experience supporting virtualized environments on centralized storage, e.g. AWS services and infrastructure, Nutanix, VMware vSphere, KVM
- Experience in AWS
- Proficiency with automation using scripting languages, particularly in Python and Bash
- Comfortability with performance and hardware troubleshooting, including high-performance compute
- Strong background in networking concepts and routing protocols
This is a permanent position based in Chicago operating on a hybrid basis.
