Job Description Summary

Maintenance Technician reports to the Facilities Director and is responsible for assisting in the operation and maintenance of mechanical systems, equipment, and furnishings.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Perform preventative maintenance to mechanical equipment and systems
  • Perform corrective work orders including but not limited to those listed below, using common hand and power tools :
  • Patching and painting walls and surfaces
  • Repair, replace or adjust inoperable doors and hardware
  • Replace damaged or missing ceiling tiles
  • Cove base and carpet repairs
  • Hang boards, pictures, signs, and other wall fastened items.
  • Minor furniture repairs
  • General carpentry functions
  • Minor plumbing repairs
  • Sourcing of parts and supplies to perform work functions
  • Work from elevated areas such as ladders and platforms, utilizing protective equipment when required
  • Work without direct supervision on daily assigned work
  • Effectively communicate with school and facilities staff to accomplish assigned tasks
  • Maintain adherence to work schedule and availability to work overtime as required
  • Perform other related duties as assigned, such as assisting other tradesmen and emergency repairs
  • Maintain communication with supervisor regarding unresolved work issues

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 1 year of building maintenance experience preferred
  • Ability to read blueprints and have an understanding codes and regulations
  • Understand and ensure compliance with company & client policies / procedures and safety rules / regulations
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs frequently, 50 lbs. occasionally
