Job Description Summary
Maintenance Technician reports to the Facilities Director and is responsible for assisting in the operation and maintenance of mechanical systems, equipment, and furnishings.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Perform preventative maintenance to mechanical equipment and systems
- Perform corrective work orders including but not limited to those listed below, using common hand and power tools :
- Patching and painting walls and surfaces
- Repair, replace or adjust inoperable doors and hardware
- Replace damaged or missing ceiling tiles
- Cove base and carpet repairs
- Hang boards, pictures, signs, and other wall fastened items.
- Minor furniture repairs
- General carpentry functions
- Minor plumbing repairs
- Sourcing of parts and supplies to perform work functions
- Work from elevated areas such as ladders and platforms, utilizing protective equipment when required
- Work without direct supervision on daily assigned work
- Effectively communicate with school and facilities staff to accomplish assigned tasks
- Maintain adherence to work schedule and availability to work overtime as required
- Perform other related duties as assigned, such as assisting other tradesmen and emergency repairs
- Maintain communication with supervisor regarding unresolved work issues
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 1 year of building maintenance experience preferred
- Ability to read blueprints and have an understanding codes and regulations
- Understand and ensure compliance with company & client policies / procedures and safety rules / regulations
- Ability to lift 25 lbs frequently, 50 lbs. occasionally
