VP Development, Digital & Mobile Banking

The VP Development, Digital & Mobile Banking is a functional group manager responsible for leading the end-to-end technology delivery of VyStar's Digital platforms, with a particular focus on Online and Mobile Banking systems.

At the direction of the Head of Application Development and Quality Assurance, this leader will collaborate closely with other peers across both IT and Business to build and execute on a continuous roadmap of priorities to drive that strategy of VyStar's digital business technology.

The candidate will also work with reporting managers to modernize, standardize, and optimize the way teams do work, while maintaining focus on best-in-class workplace culture and employee engagement.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :

  • Lead, manage, and continuously develop multiple teams of leaders and individual contributors to accomplish strategic goals, especially as it relates to Online and Mobile Banking.
  • Ensure the success and growth of all personnel in the functional organization.
  • Maintain and enhance the design and ongoing development of technology systems in the VyStar digital ecosystem in accordance with Security and Compliance standards, as well as industry best practices.
  • Influence and collaborate with leaders across the firm to build and execute on the Technology delivery strategy for business objectives.
  • Own and manage deliverables within VyStar's Solutions Delivery Lifecycle (SDLC) in close partnership with various groups across IT and Business.
  • Investigate and resolve issues, incidents, etc., as well as present findings and recommendations to executive leadership for resolution.
  • Ensure consistent and effective communications with senior leadership to drive decisions and escalate issues as needed.
  • Assist in defining and driving mechanisms for risk analysis and work with partner groups to establish mitigating controls.
  • Lead and communicate regular organizational objectives and progress through various engagement forums and reporting cadences.
  • Effectively manage a comprehensive budget for the function in partnership with Finance, Executive Management, and direct reports.
  • Drive an operating model and organizational culture with a relentless focus to "Do Good" by appropriately assessing risk, encouraging dialog and diversity, as well as promoting accountability for sound ethical judgment and a compliance / policy-focused mindset at every level of the firm.

JOB QUALIFICATIONSExperience

  • 10+ years of experience in information technology leadership, with at least 5 years managing in a production IT environment managing enterprise IT infrastructure, hardware, hosting service, or network areas.
  • 7+ years of experience with digital and online technologies, API and microservices-enabled architectures, and modernized technology stacks.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience within the financial services industry preferred.
  • Consistently strong record of performance results as a leader of large-scale, cross-functional teams or programs.
  • Demonstrable time spent in roles across multiple technology disciplines including or related to technology delivery and SDLC-based projects.
  • Deep knowledge of typical Financial Services product solutions, including Digital and non-Digital offerings.
  • Management of enterprise-level 3rd party supplier relationships, including contract negotiation / ownership, relationship management, and budget responsibility.
  • Broad knowledge of current IT trends and developments.

Skills

  • Ability to lead, influence and facilitate technical solutions to meet business needs.
  • Familiarity with modern IT Development and Testing processes.
  • Knowledgeable in microservices architecture, RESTful / Web APIs, enterprise-scale data technologies, and Cloud deployments.
  • Ability to "think big" and challenge conventional wisdom regarding technology.
  • Strong leadership and negotiation skills with business and technical groups including ability to share knowledge, resolve conflict and build consensus among many stakeholders.
  • Broad, in-depth working knowledge of various business components and understand dependencies and linkages of major business processes, products, systems, networks, etc.
  • Willingness and ability to fulfill the role of teacher, mentor and coach.
  • Positive outlook, strong work ethic, and responsiveness to internal and external customers and contacts.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong project management and organization skills.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and willing to take principled bets on new technology.
  • Ability to establish, implement, and enforce appropriate IT standards to meet business requirements.
  • A solid understanding of the financial services industry and the laws and regulations that govern and / or impact the credit union is a plus.
  • A high level of interpersonal skills and social sensitivity are required. The candidate comes into contact with employees on all levels of the organization and must be an effective listener and communicator.
  • The candidate must set the example in attitude, behavior, and work ethic.

Computer Skills

  • Advanced knowledge of technology design patterns, software architecture, systems integration concepts and frameworks.
  • Demonstrated experience with modern enterprise software development.
  • Strong knowledge of networking, computing platform, storage, database, security, middleware, network and systems management, and related infrastructure technologies and practices.
  • Experience with Microsoft Visio, Project, Power Point, Excel, SharePoint, Visual Studio.
  • Familiarity with enterprise Cloud service provider deployments and technologies (e.g., Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud).
  • Big Data, especially Azure data lake and related tools.

Education

Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) or higher in a Technology-related field.
