Position Overview :

As an Intern DevOps Automation Engineer, you will work closely with our experienced DevOps team to help build, maintain, and scale our infrastructure.

You will gain hands-on experience with industry-leading tools and technologies such as Python, AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Jenkins.

This internship is an excellent opportunity for students or recent graduates looking to start their careers in DevOps and automation.

Key Responsibilities :

• Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools using Python to streamline operations and infrastructure management tasks.
• Assist in automating the deployment and scaling of applications and services.
• Support the design, deployment, and management of cloud-based infrastructure on AWS.
• Learn and assist in the implementation of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
• Work with Kubernetes to deploy, manage, and scale containerized applications.
• Assist in setting up and managing Kubernetes clusters, including monitoring and logging.
• Help in the setup and maintenance of CI / CD pipelines using Jenkins.
• Collaborate with the development team to ensure seamless integration of code into production environments.
• Participate in monitoring system performance and ensuring the reliability and scalability of the infrastructure.
• Assist in identifying bottlenecks and proposing optimizations for performance improvement.

Qualifications :

• Education : Currently pursuing or recently completed a master’s degree in computer science.
• Programming Skills : Proficiency in Python with the ability to write clean and efficient code.
• Cloud Knowledge : Basic understanding of AWS services and cloud concepts.
• Containerization : Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Infrastructure as Code : Basic knowledge of Terraform or similar IaC tools.
• CI / CD : Exposure to Jenkins or similar CI / CD tools is a plus.
• Problem-Solving : Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Communication : Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications :

• Certifications : AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), or similar certifications are a plus.
• Hands-On Experience : Previous internship or project experience in DevOps or cloud computing.
• Version Control : Familiarity with Git and version control practices.

Education :

Field(s) of study : Computer Science or a related field.

Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree program at an accredited university.

Proof of enrollment in current or into next program (MS).

Program Information :

• Timing : May-August, or June-September pending class schedules.
• Duration of Internship : Our internship program is 12 weeks; the end date is flexible based on individual needs.
• Work Location & Environment : This position will be in Newark, CA, and is fully in-person. You must be prepared to start onsite for your first day of employment.

The working environment will be a mix of lab & office work.

• Compensation : Student compensation is based on location and current degree level, non-negotiable ranging from $48 to $66 (subject to changes).
• Relocation : May be provided on a case-by-case basis.
• Housing / Transportation : You must provide your own living arrangements and transportation in the local area.
• Background Check : All offers of employment are contingent on clearing a background check.
• Drug Screening : All offers of employment are contingent on passing a drug screen.
• Medical benefits : Dental, vision, and medical on day 1 for all interns working full-time.
• Visa Sponsorship : Lucid may but is not obligated to sponsor foreign national employees requiring company sponsorship for U.

S employment authorization.
