We are looking for your inquisitiveness, adaptability, and practical imagination to lead the strategic planning process for the continuous growth and enhancement of the residency program.
In your role as the Program Director, you will be pivotal in planning, developing, implementing, and enhancing the residency / fellowship program.
Your responsibility is critical in ensuring that medical students receive the education necessary to become successful physicians.
You will serve as an educational liaison, making sure that the program meets the standards set by accreditation agencies.
Primary responsibilities :
- Oversee admissions, onboarding, orientation, hospital-wide graduation, teaching conferences, group interview sessions, internal reviews, Clinical Competency and Program Evaluation Committee meetings
- Conduct quality assurance, patient safety and risk management activities
- Monitor residency program operations and teaching activity to ensure compliance with applicable laws, collective bargaining agreements, and ACGME / RRC requirements
- Oversee and ensure the quality of didactic and clinical education at all sites
- Assist in educational programs for medical students and maintain an environment conducive to educating the residents in each ACGME competency areas
- Provide comprehensive medical care to patients in the ambulatory and / or inpatient services of the department
- Structure duty hours and on-call time periods to focus on the needs of the patient, continuity of care, and the educational needs of the resident, and to comply with requirements as set by the institution, ACGME, and the appropriate RRC
- Coordinate educational activities for residents as required by TBHC and ACGME
Minimum qualifications required :
- Graduate of an accredited medical school
- Current New York State license to practice medicine
- Board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine
- Specialty expertise and at least 3 years program director experience preferred
- Familiarity with competency-based curriculum for residency training
- Approved credentialing with Medicaid and managed care plans
- Maintain the highest standards of professional behavior, and serve as a role model to all residents
- Medical Staff Appointment and maintenance of staff privileges
