A Waukesha Pearce Industries (WPI) Generator Tech Class A is expected to work on generators / transfer switches from oil changes to major repairs.
Keep service truck, tools and equipment in good working order. Must be able to perform load testing, warranty repairs, and startups based off manufactures requirements.
Performs other duties as assigned by manager.
Primary Job Responsibilities :
- Perform maintenance, repairs, load testing, warranty repairs, and startups
- Attends service schools and training programs offered by WPI
- Completes service reports daily
- Perform weekly truck inspections as required
- Fill out required JSA form on every job
- Perform other duties as assigned by manager

Minimum Qualifications :
- Must have 3 year(s) previous generator experience or comparable manufacturer certification
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Must have knowledge of testing and load generators / engines
- Must be able to operate a forklift
- Must have a working knowledge of generator and electrical theory and how a generator works
- Trade School or manufacturer certification preferred
- Must have knowledge of both diesel and gaseous engines and fuel system requirements

- Must have a working knowledge of the above titled position and how it relates to the overall business and its' objectives
- Must meet goals and objectives set forth by the company
- Must conform to company policies and procedures set forth by the company
- Must have a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record per WPI requirements
- Must be able to pass and maintain drug and alcohol testing requirements as outlined by WPI
- Must be computer literate, a Windows based environment preferred (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, Outlook)
- Must be able to lift 50, bend and twist several times daily
- Must be able work on generators / engines from oil changes to major repairs
- Must maintain the service truck, tools, and equipment in good working order
- Must have the ability to work flexible hours and days
- Must be dependable and able to work independently
- Must be always courteous and maintain good client relations
- Must promote and maintain a clean, neat, and safe work environment
- Must meet minimum performance standards for all assignments
- Must protect the company assets and interests
Working Conditions :
- Typical hours of work Monday through Friday; 7 : 30 a.m. to 4 : 30 p.m.
- Overtime and weekend hours as necessary.
- Outside work.
- Continued employment in the position of Generator Tech Class A and future advancement will be contingent on your ability to learn from WPI and manufacturer sponsored training classes.
Failure to complete and pass these training classes could prevent future advancement.
