JOB SUMMARY
The Industrial Facilities Maintenance Supervisor oversees the technicians on a particular shift or site while they perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, prepare work schedules, assign priority of work and ensure a safe working environment.
This position also verifies that data is reported accurately, enforces safety compliance and assists maintenance personnel when required.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when and where required.
- Prioritize, schedule and monitor maintenance activities.
- Schedule preventative maintenance.
- Ensure repair orders are accurate and submitted on time.
- Communicate with managers and operators about the current status of equipment being operated.
- Perform quality inspections to ensure proper repairs are made and products are work ready.
- Update the data base with current and accurate information.
- Perform daily safety meetings with crew.
- Open, review and close repair orders.
- Assign maintenance personnel to jobs based on their capabilities.
- Verify all company-owned, rented and leased equipment is properly entered in the maintenance database.
- Determine parts required service schedule advance of arrival of the equipment.
- Comply with company safety policies and with Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA).
- Report immediately any safety violations and correcting unsafe acts or conditions.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent and at least five years of hands on experience, including three years maintenance supervisory experience or,
- A graduate of a technical school with at least three years of hands on experience, including three years of maintenance supervisory experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical maintenance
- Experience in electrical and industrial work places
- Strong mechanical background
- The ability to function in a fast-paced work environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Training and leadership skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook
PREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- OSHA training certificates
- Maintenance supervisory certificates
- Mechanical maintenance certifications
REQUIRED LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS
- Must complete continuing education annually, as assigned by Manager
- Valid Class C driver’s license
- Safe driving record for the last three years
