Utility Billing Clerk Municipality in the Rockford region has a need for a Utility Billing Clerk . The primary function of the Utility Billing Clerk is to ensure checks and balances in the water billing system.
This position involves interaction with local residents. The ideal candidate must have excellent customer service skills.
Every Friday off! This is a temp-to-hire opportunity. Hours : 9am to 4pm, Mon-Thurs with Fridays off. Pay : $17.00 / hour Utility Billing Clerk Responsibilities :
- Enter water payments and daily deposits
- Send past due notices as needed
- Complete forms for new utility accounts
- Make courtesy calls to customers
- Track monthly water usage from reports
- Process building permits and maintain permit lists
- Submit a yearly report on building permits
- Maintain database for municipal properties
Utility Billing Clerk Requirements :
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills and ability to set priorities
- Accurate and timely with documentation and procedural guidelines
- Strong customer service skills, including ability to remain calm and polite when dealing with upset customers
- Ability to multi-task and work with unexpected interruptions
- Exhibit discretion, tact, and diplomacy
- Maintain confidentiality
- Must be a Notary or become a Notary within six months of employment
- Able to work well independently with little supervision
