Summary :
Under the direction of the Vice President of Patient Financial Services the Manager of Revenue Cycle Continuous Improvement serves as the internal revenue cycle liaison for identifying and implementing technology that supports a patient-centered revenue cycle.
Is responsible for championing the development generation and presentation of information critical to the ongoing measurements and operation of the revenue cycle.
Provides direction for best practice implementation using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies among other improvement tools in order to identify strategies that result in documented qualitative and quantitative improvement in revenue cycle performance and efficiency.
Responsibilities :
Manages coordinates and champions multiple revenue cycle initiatives across the organization to improve processes and support the revenue cycle mission.
Develops long-range strategic plans for future state processes and structure that supports a patient-centered revenue cycle across the System.
Demonstrate understanding of key revenue cycle areas that impact the patient experience - including but not limited to : insurance verification pre-registration financial counseling
billing collections and customer service.
Collaborates with revenue cycle associates and vendors to prepare performance metrics and analysis.
Develops project plan for all aspects of assigned projects. Establishes and leads cross functional project teams and status meetings.
Monitors and manages project scope budget forecast resources and deliverables within timeline. Obtains consensus and buy-in from key internal and external stakeholders for project timeline.
Works with vendors to secure equipment proposals and customer service agreements. Negotiates all equipment maintenance contracts related to IS.
Discovers opportunities for process improvement through reviewing performance metric reports and collaborating with other departmental leaders;
articulates the business case for such changes.
Designs implements and evaluates improvements aimed at increased efficiency supports the assessment of current revenue cycle functions.
Provides the area VP with the information necessary to develop and prepare a system-wide multi-year capital budget. Provides input in the development of effective budgeting and
allocation of resources within the Department (people financial material and equipment) to achieve agreed upon goals and objectives related to information
technology.
Works with internal and external resources; supports the ongoing operation of internal and vendor applications and tools.
Develops interactive web-based databases for monitoring querying reporting and managing data and project tasks as they relate to area of responsibility.
Establishes organization-wide standardized policies and processes based on industry best practices incorporating change management principles and delivering high quality results.
Supports the annual planning process to establish objectives and performance measures that gauge the effectiveness and efficiency of organizational strategies.
Works with other revenue cycle leadership to develop performance measures for staff in various areas and institute ongoing professional development opportunities such as internal certification programs career ladders cross-training opportunities etc.
Analyzes and identifies trends in revenue cycle operations; assesses the current capabilities of IT revenue cycle systems and crates innovative revenue cycle IT solutions;
and develop revenue cycle web-based education training tolls and coordinates revenue management educational activities.
Maintains knowledge of and adherence to code of conduct standards confidentiality agreements and the organization-wide mission statement.

Experience with developing and implementing Lean and Six Sigma projects including an improvement record in a multi-hospital system.

EXPERIENCE
least five years of progressive experience in managing healthcare business
functions.
least five yearsexperience with multiple healthcare information system
applications and platforms.
Prior
experience with and knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma principles required; Lean
and Six Sigma Black Belt qualification desired.
Proficiency
in Microsoft Office Suite required.
Proven
success developing curricula and training resources.
EDUCATION : Bachelors
Bachelors
Degree in finance operational analysis information systems or related field
required. Masters Degree desired.
Certification
in relevant hospital systems strongly preferred.
