Job Description
Puget Sound Veterinary Specialty & Emergency is seeking an Associate in Emergency Medicine to join us in our new hospital in beautiful Gig Harbor, Washington.
About Us
Puget Sound Veterinary Specialty & Emergency is a new hospital in the heart of the Pacific Northwest. We are building a progressive and inclusive practice, starting with the vision of breaking the mold of veterinary medicine that is rife with burnout and compassion fatigue.
At PSVSE, we pride ourselves not only on our commitment to the health and well-being of our patients and their families, but our employees as well.
Our core values of Respect, Integrity, Compassion, and Humility with the over-arching Do The Right Thing are the backbone of how we practice medicine, care for ourselves, each other, our patients and their families.
We prioritize quality of life and work-life balance to give time to enjoy everything the beautiful PNW has to offer.
Our technical and support staff are highly valued as critical members of the team. In addition to exemplary specialty and emergency medicine, we are building a collaborative and collegial working environment that supports continued growth and learning in our hospital at all levels.
We recently completed construction of our state-of-the-art, 21,000 sf facility in Gig Harbor, Washington, tucked away on the emerald-green and blue Olympic Peninsula about an hour drive or beautiful ferry ride across the Puget Sound from Seattle.
Our ER is complete and open for business, and we are eagerly anticipating the completion of our specialty and ICU spaces.
The completed facility will include a dedicated ICU including long-term mechanical ventilator, high-flow oxygen unit, full in-house lab, 128-slice CT, MRI, ultrasound, in-house blood-bank, fluoroscopy and interventional radiology suite, radioactive iodine therapy, minimally invasive surgery, flexible and rigid endoscopy, and more.
We are seeking an individual who values teamwork and inclusivity, with the vision to expand our core values and hospital vision into the demanding ECC environment.
Our candidate will have the opportunity to work with a hospitalist and a criticalist as we fill those positions. An interest in training and elevating our support staff is a must!
For the Successful Applicant :
Life is not just about work! We recognize that to be an excellent, satisfied clinician with longevity in this career, work-life balance is imperative.
Support of this balance is a founding principle of our hospital, and we are building a like-minded team that steps in to support the needs of our fellow team members.
Quality of life involves loving our jobs as well as pursuing our passions outside of work. Imagine living on the beautiful, laid-back Olympic Peninsula, an outdoor-enthusiast's dream with mountains and the Puget Sound out your backdoor, and the Pacific Coast or desert a couple hours drive away.
The metropolitan life of downtown Seattle is just a short drive or ferry trip away. Here are some of the ways we will help ensure this balance
- Help to build an incredible multispecialty and ECC hospital.
- Generous compensation salary plus production, no negative accrual
- A generous relocation bonus
- 401K with employer match
- Full medical / dental / vision, employer-paid short and long-term disability insurance
