The Global Payments Solutions Data & AI Strategy and Management team (DSM) is looking for a Data Strategy and Management Executive (DSME) for the Global Transactions Services, part of the GPS team which is $15bn business.

The DSME is a critical leadership role that drives the line of business accountability for data & ensures that the data meets the business needs of the organization.

This role will require a unique blend of payments expertise and an in-depth understanding & knowledge of data.

The DSME and their team will be strategically placed in the line of business to enable direct alignment with key business leaders to drive maximum impact.

Success in the role will require a fundamental understanding of the business of global payments in order to play a key role in what we aim to achieve together.

The team's mandate places a dual focus on :

  • Data strategy including building and executing data strategy that enables the business, and
  • Data governance / management including driving adoption of enterprise data management policies and standards across GTS including for fit-for-purpose for Regulatory Reporting and other critical data uses;
  • facilitating and providing governance and oversight of GTS data incidents; active engagement and support of enterprise data testing effort;

active engagement of enterprise data initiatives and support of internal / external regulatory and audit exams and issues.

The DSME will report to the Data and AI team leader and will be connected to the overall Enterprise Data Strategy and Governance Organization (EDSGO).

The DSME will be defining and driving forward DSM team goals while building bridges with all partner teams including subject matter experts and leaders globally in the business, technology, and operations.

The DSME will interface directly with regulators, internal audit and GCOR among other internal and external data management authorities in addition to working with line of business partners including Compliance, Audit, and Risk to understand the needs and produce data solutions by partnering with Technology team.

The DSME will continuously monitor data health across GPS and consolidate health reporting for leadership.

On top of driving forward DSM team goals, the DSME will also be a key influencer in driving buy-in and execution of the GTS data strategy across the entire GTS data landscape.

Required skills : "Must" have these skills to be minimally qualified

  • 10+ years of experience in a Data Management or Data Controls and Governance role.
  • Ability to drive adoption of and adherence to internal data management policies and standards.
  • Ability to develop a long-term vision for data management within the business, aligned with business objectives.
  • Must be able to define data strategy, build comprehensive roadmap, align teams for buy-in, communicate to leadership for funding, and actively involved in allocation and execution.
  • Must have strong understanding of the line of business, including processes, products, services, and downstream critical uses & understanding of payments data and commercial banking transaction data.
  • Must have understanding of business data domains, critical data, ADS / ADSets, downstream data sourcing, and downstream stakeholders / users.
  • Aptitude to analyze problems and identify both tactical and strategic solutions to address.
  • Capability to decompose complex issues and drive timely decisions, knowing when to engage others for additional input, and when to act independently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to simplify and summarize complex data priorities / technical concepts to executive stakeholders.
  • Highly detail oriented.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, work-intensive organization and be able to adapt to changing priorities while delivering with high accuracy.
  • Passion building a culture of collaboration and teamwork

Desired skills :

4+ years of experience in Payments role.

  • Strong relationship management skills to navigate the complexities of gaining buy-in, building consensus, and resolving conflicts in a large, distributed organization.
  • Understanding of applicable internal policy and standard requirements, including deep understanding of EDSGO-owned policy & standard requirements.
  • Hands-on, applied experience with Enterprise Data Management Policy / Standards, data governance concepts and frameworks including industry best practices.
  • Knowledge of data management disciplines, including data strategy, data governance, data architecture, data security, etc.
  • Ability to apply the core concepts of data risk management, including identification, assessment, and remediation of risk while driving health reporting of risks.
  • Experience with dealing with complexity of Global data issues and regulations.
  • Hands-on, applied experience with building Strategy and Roadmap for data initiatives.
  • Deep understanding of project management framework and fundamentals; PMI certified.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
