The Opportunity : Unit Coordinator - Thoracic / Vascular Surgery Ellison 19

Ellison 19 is a thirty-bed unit devoted to the care of patients recovering from Thoracic / Vascular Surgery. The patient population on this unit requires complex nursing care.

Schedule

• Night Shift (11pm-7 : 30am, 7pm-7 : 30am)
• 2 (8hr) shifts & 2 (12hr) shifts per week.
• 40 hours per week
• Rotational holiday and weekend schedule

What are we looking for?

As a Unit Coordinator, you will play a critical role in patient care by serving as the central source of information by communicating with patients, families, and medical staff.

You will transcribe medical charts for patients to ensure that all their medical treatments and procedures are carried out.

The position requires a high degree of accuracy and strong communications skills.

• Individuals who are highly organized and can prioritize and manage information in a demanding environment

• Effective coordinators who can arrange for patient services between multiple department

• Demonstrated ability to solve basic patient and practice problems using a combination of strong interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail and superior organizational skills.
• Preferred : Associate degree; 1-year clinical experience
• Required : High School diploma or GED required; Must have at least 1 year of customer service experience; Computer skills necessary (word, excel, and ability to learn MGH systems)
