Description

Director of Quality (Defense) responsibilities :

  • Lead Quality Improvement Initiatives : Drive continuous improvement efforts across all areas of the organization to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure Regulatory Compliance : Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards, including leading audits and certifications.
  • Manage Quality Team : Lead and mentor a team of quality professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally : Work closely with engineering, production, and other departments to resolve quality issues and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Customer and Supplier Quality Management : Address customer concerns, manage supplier quality performance, and drive initiatives to improve overall supply chain quality.
  • Monitor Quality Performance : Track and analyze key quality metrics, reporting to senior management on performance trends and areas for improvement.
  • Lead Root Cause Analysis : Oversee root cause analysis for quality issues, ensuring effective and timely resolution of problems.
  • Develop Quality Strategies : Create and implement quality strategies that align with the company's overall business goals and objectives.
  • Support New Product Development : Collaborate in new product development processes to ensure that quality standards are integrated from the design phase onward.

Profile

Successful candidate for the Director of Quality (Defense) :

  • Extensive Quality Management Experience : Over 10 years of experience in quality management within a manufacturing or high-tech environment.
  • Proven Leadership Skills : Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor teams, driving a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Strong Knowledge of Industry Standards : Deep understanding of ISO 9001, AS9100, and other relevant quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Expertise in Process Improvement : Proficiency in statistical analysis, process improvement methodologies, and root cause analysis.
  • Strategic Thinking : Ability to develop and implement quality strategies that align with the company's business objectives.
  • Excellent Communication Skills : Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate across all levels of the organization.
  • Customer-Focused Approach : A track record of addressing customer concerns and driving initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Technical Proficiency : Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, engineering principles, and quality control tools.
