About The Position
Job Title : Locum Tenens Physician Job Specialty : Women's Health (OBGYN) Job Duration : 12 months Shift : 24-hour call coverage requiring monthly availability of 14 days / month Guaranteed Hours : Not specified Experience : Not specified License : Preference for an Indiana license Certifications : Board certified / eligibility required Must-Have : - Ability to provide OB call coverage Job Description : - Provide locum tenens coverage for OBGYN services, including Labor & Delivery and ER departments.
- Maintain 24 / 7 obstetrics ER call coverage as per maternal level designation requirements. - Support is provided by RNs and PCTs, but there are no midwives available.
- The role involves working with low daily patient volume, with a focus on OB / GYN emergencies. - Work in collaboration with limited staff to cover OB emergency call, ensuring that there are no lapses in coverage, which could impact funding and maternal care designation.
- The facility has Level II NICU and perinatal services, with 7 fully equipped birthing suites, 11 private mother / baby postpartum rooms, 2 OB-specific operating rooms, and in-house anesthesia coverage.
- The monthly delivery volume ranges from 10-12. - Practice setting does not require staying onsite; call can be managed from a nearby hotel.
- Utilize the Meditech EMR system. This position plays a critical role in complimenting existing staff to maintain essential OB / GYN care services in the community.
