Position Overview
Navistar is looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer Lead-Paint Engineer to join their team in San Antonio! The Senior Manufacturing Engineer Lead-Paint Engineer will lead the design, development, and implementation of robotic systems for paint applications, focusing on efficiency, accuracy, and reliability.
They will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand paint process requirements and translate them into robotic programming strategies.
Responsibilities Program and optimize robotic systems, including Fanuc robots, for various paint applications, ensuring seamless integration with existing production lines Conduct testing and validation of robotic systems to ensure performance meets quality and safety standards Troubleshoot and debug robotic systems, identifying and resolving technical issues to minimize downtime and maximize productivity Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends in robotic paint applications, continuously seeking opportunities for improvement and innovation Provide technical support and training to production staff on the operation and maintenance of robotic systems Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to source and evaluate robotic equipment and components, ensuring compatibility and reliability Participate in new product development projects, providing expertise on robotic paint applications and contributing to design reviews and feasibility studies Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and standards governing robotic systems and paint processes Oversee the setup, calibration, and maintenance of painting equipment and systems Conduct comprehensive analyses of paint defects, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions to uphold product integrity Drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing paint consumption, minimizing waste, and enhancing environmental sustainability Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree At least 5 years of experience in product manufacturing OR Master’s degree At least 3 years of experience in product manufacturing OR At least 7 years of experience in product manufacturing Additional Requirements Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States.
