Senior Controls Engineer
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Controls Engineer to join our thriving team in Melrose Park, IL. This role offers a broad spectrum of responsibilities ranging from control system design and project management to customer relationship management and field commissioning.

Compensation : $85,000.00 - $110,000.00
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Design and manage control systems for various automation projects, adhering to all relevant national and international codes.
- Oversee project execution from concept through commissioning, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Program PLCs and interfaces for multiple brands such as Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Automation Direct, and Mitsubishi.
- Conduct electrical and mechanical troubleshooting during the commissioning phase.
- Maintain clear and proactive communication with customers on project status and developments.
- Foster strong relationships with customers throughout the project cycle to ensure continued business and satisfaction.
- Supervise panel build processes and conduct thorough panel assembly according to design specifications.
- Provide onsite and remote technical support to clients to resolve urgent technical issues.
- Prepare detailed project scopes and materials budgets for quotations.
- Lead and mentor junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
Minimum Position Qualifications :
- 5+ years of experience in industrial automation systems
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or Mechatronics
- Proven ability to manage and execute multiple projects from conception through commissioning
- Experience in programming and troubleshooting PLCs and other control system components
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Ability to travel up to 20% for project needs, primarily local to customer sites
Preferred Qualifications :
- Advanced degrees or certifications in related fields
- Prior experience in food & beverage or automotive industries
- Proficiency in Visual Basic, C#, Python, or SQL Server for developing software applications
- Experience in leading cross-functional teams
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
Skills :
- Advanced knowledge of NEC code and UL508A standards
- Expertise in full system lifecycle management, including planning, developing, testing, and deploying systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective project management abilities
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with team members and clients proficiently
