Minimum 1+ years speech therapy experience required.
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Part-Time School Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our team in the Crawfordsville, IN area for the 2024 / 2025 school year.
This position involves working alongside a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide speech and language therapy services to students in school settings.
Responsibilities :
- Assessment and Evaluation : Assist in conducting comprehensive speech and language assessments for students under the supervision of an SLP.
- Intervention and Therapy : Provide evidence-based speech and language therapy services to students, both individually and in group settings, as directed by the SLP.
- Collaboration : Work closely with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support the implementation of effective communication strategies and support plans.
- IEP Development : Participate in the development, implementation, and review of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with speech and language needs under the guidance of an SLP.
- Documentation : Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, treatment plans, and other required documentation as directed by the SLP.
- Training and Support : Assist in providing training and support to school staff and parents on speech and language development and intervention strategies.
- Professional Development : Stay current with research and best practices in the field of speech-language pathology and participate in ongoing professional development opportunities.
Requirements :
- Education : Associate's degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assisting or a related field from an accredited program.
- Licensure : Current licensure as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant in Indiana.
- Certification : ASHA certification for Speech-Language Pathology Assistants preferred.
- Experience : Previous experience working in a school setting is highly desirable.
- Skills : Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
