Description

The System Engineer shall provide technical leadership for creating, tracking, and managing the integration of system requirements, software design, and various technology stacks into a scalable / sustainable / highly available mission solution.

The System Engineer has responsibility for the technical integrity of the work performed and deliverables associated with the Systems Engineering area of responsibility.

The System Engineer shall also communicate with other program personnel, government stakeholders, and senior executives.

In addition, the Systems Engineer shall provide Agile SCRUM Master leadership for one or more software development teams.

Requirements

A current Top-Secret / SCI with FS polygraph security clearance is required. Candidates cannot be sponsored or nominated for a government security clearance under this position.

Twenty (20) years' experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is required. Demonstrated experience in planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts is required.

Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.

Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.

Required skills :

• Experience using the Linux CLI and tools
• Experience writing scripts using Bash / Python
• General HPC technical knowledge regarding compute, network, memory, and storage components
• Experience with IaC (Infrastructure as Code) concepts, principles and automation such as Ansible, SaltStack, Puppet, Chef, Terraform
• Experience with CI / CD principles, methodologies, and tools including GitLab
• Experience with DevSecOps best practices
• Experience with Git Source Control System
• Experience working in an Agile development environment
• Willingness to learn Ansible

Desired skills :

• Experience with the Atlassian Suite of Tools including Jira and Confluence
• Experience with build-test-release CI / CD pipelines and processes
• Experience with container technologies such as Docker and containerd
• Experience with container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes and Rancher Kubernetes Engine 2 (RKE2)
• Experience with Linux system administration and infrastructure network services such as DNS, DHCP, PXE, NTP, etc.
