Unit Highlights

Nurseson Unit 5E (Medical Oncology) care for many medical oncologydiagnoses while upholding the Commission on Cancer Standards.

We welcomepatients from a variety of medical and surgical specialties.

This 21bed unit is a great place to become an expert generalist, Certified Chemonurse and a Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) as well as a CertifiedMedical-Surgical Registered Nurse (CMSRN).

The staff and nurses on 5E arehighly skilled, motivated, and committed to excellence.

Westrive to provide safe, quality care by maintaining apatient-centered approach and leveraging multi-disciplinarycollaboration.

The cytoreductive surgery was developed at MedStar WashingtonHospital Center. The 5E Nurses also provide nationally certified careto our bariatric surgical patient population.

Key Responsibilities

As a Clinical Nurse you will deliver proficient nursing care to patients and families whose needs range from uncomplicated to highly complex.

You will identify current and potential complex problems of specific patient populations and critically analyzes trends and changes in patient status and plans appropriate interventions directly or indirectly through other nurses.

Qualifications

• ADN, BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited School of Nursing required.
• Prior Clinical Nursing Experience preferred.
• Active DC RN License and Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers required.
