Safe procedures start with clean instruments. Our Sterile Processing Technicians work behind the scenes of healthcare facilities in a fast-paced environment, impacting patient safety without being patient facing.

What You Will Do

  • Reprocess surgical trays post-surgery; ensuring they are decontaminated, cleaned, inspected, sterilized, correctly assembled within a timely manner and ready for the next case
  • Operate sterile processing washers, sterilizers, ultrasonic and drying cabinets
  • Participate in regular on-site training

What You Need to Be Successful

  • A high school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of a Sterile Processing / Surgical Technologist program preferred.
  • 6 months - 1+ years of SPD or transferrable experience required.
  • Some states require CRCST or CSPDT certification as a prerequisite of the job.
  • If required, must maintain certification by completing 12 Continuing Education Credit Hours annually.
  • Basic computer skills and aptitude.
  • Medical instrument knowledge preferred.
  • Knowledge of sterilization and processing equipment preferred.
  • Ability to work daily in a fast-paced, high pressure Healthcare Service environment.
  • Awareness of LEAN concepts and ability to translate this in the work environment preferred.
  • Communicates in a professional manner to all hospital staff, Customers and company employees via all forms of communication.
  • Must be a team player and demonstrate flexibility to work in all areas of the department to meet production demands.
