Job Description
The Recreation Sports Official works under the direction of the Recreation Coordinator; officiates youth sports programs such as soccer, basketball, baseball / T-ball, flag football etc.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Officiates all youth sports programs
1.1 Ensures the safety of participants through the use of proper officiating mechanics and rules
1.2 Enforce guidelines, rules and sportsmanship
1.3 Ensures the set up and take down of playing fields and or playing facilities
1.4 Reports any injuries or problems to the Recreation Coordinator
1.5 Report any issues or concerns with coaches, players, parents or spectators to the Recreation
Coordinator
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATIONS
Graduation from high school or GED equivalent, or any equivalent combination of related education or experience.
NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of recreation game rules and city policies.
- Skill in First Aid and CPR
- Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other agencies, participants, and the general public.

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet while in the office, and moderately loud when in the field.
