Job Description

To effectively manage all aspects of restaurant purchasing including but not limited to purchasing, procurement, and inventory systems.

Other tasks include monitoring adherence to all laws and safety guidelines along with analyzing and evaluating costs, sourcing goods and materials and reporting information to ownership and management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Source and procure supplies, components, and equipment required for restaurant, deli, and bakery.
  • Manager relationships with existing suppliers while negotiating pricing, terms, and contracts to ensure cost effectiveness and quality.
  • Source and develop new vendors, craft negotiation strategies and terms on price, payment, and lead time, and close deals with optimal terms.
  • Coordinate with production and logistics to ensure timely delivery of materials and components.
  • Forecast price, analyze customer buying patterns and market trends to identify and optimize product assortment, pricing as well as changes of balance in buyer-supplier power.
  • Monitor inventory levels and implement strategies to optimize stock levels
  • Support various other inventory control activities including, but not limited to, stock adjustments, scrap transactions, credit memos, vendor returns, and vendor chargebacks.
  • Other projects and tasks may be delegated as needed.

Requirements :

  • Minimum three years in purchasing or procurement role, preferably in the food industry.
  • Dedication to excellent food quality and ensuring compliance with all health, safety and safe food handling practices. California Food Handlers card is required for all food service employees who prepare, store and serve food.
  • Analytical thinker with a positive attitude and flexibility to accommodate evolving business needs.
  • Excellent attention to detail, self-starter with the ability to learn, grow, and adapt quickly.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain vendor relations.
  • Experience with CTUIT Radar or other all-in-one restaurant management software.
  • Excel knowledge is required.
  • Bilingual- English / Spanish skills helpful, but not required.
