Position Description :

Repairs, installs, and inspects electronics or electronic systems as directed through verbal or written directions, diagrams, drawings, or specifications.

Maintains and makes necessary operating adjustments to the productions electronic systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

Below are examples of the type of duties you could be responsible for :

  • Read and modify detailed engineering drawings and prints to adjust, test and repair equipment.
  • Responsible for entering data in SAP PM (Plant maintenance)
  • Program and trouble shoot PLC, robotics and vision systems.
  • Troubleshoot automation manufacturing equipment.
  • Troubleshoot pneumatic systems and servo drives.
  • Interface with suppliers for maintenance parts
  • Understand and apply engineering specifications, Change Orders, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Support daily production requirements.
  • Support engineering project related activities

Qualifications :

  • 3 to 5 years of Electrical Maintenance experience preferred
  • Good Mechanical aptitude
  • Basic component and assembly process knowledge
  • 1 to 3 years Robotic experience preferred.
  • Experience with Cognex, Banner, Allen Bradley and Keyence automation equipment preferred.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Basic reading / writing / & verbal skills

Knowledge, Training, Skills and / or Experience :

Experience and education are great to come into this position with. However, it’s not required, here at Wabash, we give you the training to become comfortable in any Electronics Controls Engineer Maintenance Technician position.

Upon receiving an offer letter from us, you’ll undergo orientation and several days of training, preparing you for the production floor.

    Physical Demands :

    As an Electronics Controls Engineer Maintenance Technician, you are regularly required to stand, walk, lean, push, climb, sit, bend, kneel, stoop, handle and operate tools or controls for the length of their entire shift.

    The employee needs full range of motion in their arms and hands in this position. All Electronics Controls Engineer Maintenance Technician must be able to successfully communicate with fellow employees as well.

    Some Electronics Controls Engineer Maintenance Technician also work in small spaces throughout their shift and frequently lift and / or carry objects up to 50 pounds.

    Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus, along with good hand-eye coordination.

    Weekend work will be required for some project work.
