Your Role : :

The Engineer(s) will play a key role in planning and design projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region. The individual will participate in land development, water utilities design, and utility infrastructure project design developments, ensuring key deadlines are met, and that project team members and design disciplines work together collaboratively and effectively.

Major duties / responsibilities of the position include :

• Support municipal and federal projects, water quality modeling, wastewater and / or stormwater master planning, and state environmental requirements for states in the Southeast.
• Assist with the preparation of feasibility studies, design plans, specifications, cost estimates, technical documents and contracts.
• Assist with design and calculation packages for wastewater plants and pump stations, and related utility systems such as lift stations, SCADA, and stormwater management systems.
• Collaborate with other engineers and scientists on associated work such as water quality and hydraulic modeling.
• Participate in other civil engineering and design pertaining to utilities and land development.
• Mid-level engineers may be assigned project management duties.
• Senior engineers may be assigned supervisory and / or project management duties.
• Participate in the professional community and build the Tetra Tech brand.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• A minimum of 3+ years of progressive experience in land development, water resources, and / or utility design projects.
• Advanced degree (e.g., MS, PhD) may account for 1-2 years of experience.
• Basic knowledge of surveying and use of topographic data.
• Design of stormwater management for municipalities and other entities is preferred.
• Ability to navigate state regulatory approval processes for permitting for stormwater and / or wastewater.
• Ability to design using AutoCAD Civil 3D to produce grading plans, alignments, profiles, cut-fill volumes, surfaces, pipe networks, etc.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) is required.
• Recent experience with the design of sustainable green infrastructure, including subsurface storage and infiltration, bioretention basins, bioswales, green streets, and constructed wetlands.
• Assist the Project Manager in multi-disciplined projects in the preparation of construction drawings, details, specifications, calculations, and engineers estimate of probable construction costs.
• Strong work ethic and problem-solving skills.
• Effective time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
• A valid driver’s license.
• Due to contractual requirements, must be a US Citizen.
