Research Outreach Coordinator, Civil & Architectural Engineering & Mechanics Posting Number req19180 Department Civil Arch Engr and Mechanics Department Website Link Location Main Campus Address Tucson, AZ USA Position Highlights Arizona Transportation Institute (AzTI), established by three state universities (UA, ASU, and NAU) in 2024, is to serve as a collaborative platform to manage and oversee the allocation and utilization of federal research funds provided through ADOT.
AzTI, led by UA, is charged with the responsibility of carrying out transportation research processes that will support transportation research needs for ADOT and for the State of Arizona to produce useful information and recommendations that can address transportation concerns for ADOT, local jurisdictions, other states, and researchers, and to support the development and operations of an integrated, multimodal transportation system that facilitates the efficient, economic movement of people and goods;
and supports community development and social goals. This position will heavily focus on coordination between internal and external audiences, and event planning, and collaboration with faculty and staff members on developing and exploring research outreach programs and opportunities.

Duties & Responsibilities
Communicate with AzTI faculty members, internal and / or external stakeholders, including Arizona Department of Transportation to coordinate activities and meetings.
Ensure meetings and activities adhere to timelines, are organized, and run efficiently.
- Serves as a point of contact for information regarding the AzTI center and its goals. Communicate in-person and via virtual channels and responds to requests for information in a timely and accurate matter.
- Actively maintains network of contacts, internal and external, and informed on opportunities to support the organized operations and promotion of the AzTI center.
- Assist in the planning, development, and implementation of research programs and events, to ensure smooth operation and adherence to timelines and AzTI's objectives.
- The annual state-wide Arizona Research Summit is one such event, with 100s of attendees, requiring collaboration and coordination.
- Prepare outreach and marketing materials, , AzTI brochure, managing social media and website content, collaborating with IT and Database Administrators.
- This material is to be distribute to faculty and students at the three AZ state universities, ADOT, and local transportation agencies, city of Tucson and Pima County.
- Assist with administration-office related tasks given by the supervisor and additional duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) :
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to organize itineraries for incoming guests and see it through from beginning to end.
- Ability to prioritize and create timelines for assigned tasks and follow through within given requirements.
- Skills in establishing and maintaining effective and productive working relationships with on-campus and off-campus partners.
- Ability to interact with diverse internal and external partners on all levels.
- Computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint).
- Knowledge of University policies, procedures, and requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through experience required.
- 1 year of relevant work experience required.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to drive according to the University .
