Summary
The Vice President of Accounting and Finance is responsible for all financial strategy, planning and management functions in support of overall company strategies and objectives.
The VP will direct all sides of accounting operations, including payables, receivables, collections, financial risk, market trends and tax preparation by providing leadership, financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting for all global entities.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Financial planning and strategy, managing business profitability, strategic planning, process improvement, forecasting, corporate finance and accounting, inventory management, cash management and governance, AP & AR, collections and controls, government & regulatory compliance and tax optimization & management
- Assess and evaluate financial performance by evaluating trends; establishing critical measurements; determining production, productivity, quality and customer-service, freight strategies;
designing systems; accumulating resources; resolving problems and implementing change
- Leads and prepares annual budget / forecasting process and annual three-to-five-year strategic planning process delivering strategic plan financials to key stakeholders annually
- Manages and oversees on-time & accurate financial statement reporting to key stakeholders inclusive of Financial KPIs, Revenue & Margin Analytics Reporting, Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Statement of Cash Flows
- Preparation and presentation of monthly budgeting, profit / loss reports, forecasts analysis and recommends actions to offset short falls against plan
- Provides insight and recommendations for both short- and long-term growth plans
- Evaluate and make recommendations for automating processes and increasing efficiency
- Evaluate and identify acquisition opportunities and manage financial aspects of merger integration efforts
- Maintains and updates knowledge by remaining aware of new regulations, participating in educational opportunities, networks and professional organizations
- Supervise finance and accounting staff in support of overall company performance metrics
- Establishing industry best practices aligned with USA GAAP
- Oversee the Insurance coverage for the company
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, MBA preferred
- CPA required, with experience accounting for a public company a plus
- Minimum 3 years as a Controller or similar level role
- Minimum 10 years accounting or finance experience
- Hands on ERP Systems experience in mid-market environment
- Excellent analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with acquiring businesses and integrating them
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all levels of the business.
- Hands on approach to both day to day operations and long term projects
