Purpose of Role :

The Head of Marketing and Communications, Americas, will develop strategy and lead marketing and communications activities across Marex's Americas business.

A senior communicator, the individual will be responsible for promoting and protecting Marex's reputation in the region, supporting our commercial objectives, crisis management and developing employee engagement - working in close alignment with the Global Head of Corporate Affairs and the broader corporate affairs team as well as the senior leadership team in the Americas.

The Corporate Affairs department supports the Group in providing Communications, Marketing, Events and Public Affairs.

Responsibilities :

  • Develop strong relationships with the senior leadership team in the US, including the CEO of the Americas, and will develop a network of relationships with stakeholders across Marex to support the commercial objectives of the business.
  • Create a marketing and communications strategy to support the Americas business and deliver campaigns that drive brand, reputational, and commercial growth.
  • Develop thought leadership, marketing collateral, content for social media, media management and oversee an events strategy.
  • Oversee all internal communications and events.
  • Lead on media relations, manage press activity, build profile and reputation, manage financial and business media communications, aligned with our investor relations messaging.
  • Work with the global corporate affairs team based in London ensuring all collateral and activity is aligned with global objectives and global brand guidelines, that efficient processes are implemented and followed, and that activity is delivered to a budget.
  • Responsible for the direction and output of agencies that support our business and lead and motivate team members globally to achieve objectives.
  • Identify and craft stories that bring to life our vision and our value proposition.
  • Write and edit internal and external materials e.g. client collaterals, company presentations, thought leadership articles, newsletters, press releases, blogs, videos, etc.
  • Responsible for employee engagement and internal communications across the Americas, including town halls, diversity, equity, and inclusion activities and other initiatives to promote and engaged workforce.
  • Responsible for crisis communications and responses in the region, working together with the global team.
  • Ensuring compliance with the company's regulatory requirements under the SEC, FINRA, NFA, CFTC and other applicable exchanges.
  • Adhere to the operational risk framework for your role ensuring that all regulatory or company determined parameters are complied with.
  • Role model for demonstrating highest level standards of integrity and conduct and reflecting Company Values.
  • At all times complying with Marex's Code of Conduct
  • To ensure that you are fully aware of and adhere to internal policies that relate to you, your role or any other activities for which you have any level of responsibility.
  • To report any breaches of policy to Compliance and / or your supervisor as required
  • To escalate risk events immediately
  • To provide input to risk management processes, as required.

Competencies, Skills and Experience :

Competencies

  • An experienced professional with more than 10 years' experience, ideally in financial services
  • Ability to think strategically and commercially combined with the willingness to roll up their sleeves and get involved in hands-on delivery.

This is an opportunity to build the marketing and communications function from the ground up, so will suit a self-starter with plenty of initiative and ambition.

Drive and resilience to deliver excellence amidst a fast-paced, high volume environment with tight timelines and changing priorities.

Demonstrable ability to lead projects from start to finish

  • Able to build and manage a multidisciplinary team (i.e. writers, designers, events agencies, etc.), excels at building relationships, networking and influencing others and experienced in managing internal stakeholders and external 3rd party partners
  • Articulate written, visual and verbal communicator, excellent copy accuracy and proofreading skills; fluency in English is essential
  • A collaborative team player, approachable, self-efficient and influences a positive work environment. Demonstrates curiosity and creativity.
  • Strategic collaborator with insight and agility, able to anticipate future challenges, ensuring operational effectiveness
  • Must be adaptable to different work situations and highly organised to prioritise multiple tasks and projects.

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in marketing or communications, ideally in financial services.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with social media publishing tools (SharePoint and WordPress desired).

Salary Range : $150,000 to $250,000 per year base salary plus discretionary bonus.
