Job Summary

The Materials Planning Manager will play a pivotal role in the supply chain, collaborating closely with our operations, sales, marketing, procurement, and finance teams.

This position is essential for establishing the foundation and driving the implementation and execution of the Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) process, as well as strategic planning, logistics, and other key responsibilities and projects.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Act as a key leader within the operations department, serving as the primary liaison for senior management globally on matters pertaining to SIOP, demand planning, supply planning, inventory management, and logistics planning.
  • Take ownership of inventory management, striving to enhance product availability to elevate service levels while optimizing working capital.
  • Collaborate with the wider supply chain, operations, sales, marketing, and finance teams to define and enact demand, supply, inventory planning, and logistics processes, with a keen focus on market dynamics and future projections.
  • Establish and articulate clear and ambitious Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the department, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Spearhead the establishment and implementation of the demand planning process, enabling accurate forecasting of future demand and trends across short, medium, and long-term horizons.
  • Drive and oversee the execution of supply plans, coordinating with the purchasing department for distribution centers across diverse geographies and the production scheduling department for manufacturing.
  • Ensure the ongoing accuracy of ERP parameters through regular updates and diligent monitoring of operational changes.
  • Take full ownership of the demand plan, supply plan, inventory management, and logistics processes, driving their successful implementation and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate closely with service and distribution centers as well as key suppliers to establish optimal inventory parameters, refine forecasting processes, and enhance overall service levels.

Qualifications

  • Over a decade of experience in SIOP / Supply Chain / Planning or related roles within a Manufacturing Environment, with over five years of managerial experience.
  • Possess a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or Engineering; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Proficient in analytical skills, with additional qualifications such as black belt / green belt certification being advantageous.

Demonstrated history of leveraging data analysis and Business Intelligence tools to identify and seize opportunities.

  • Proven ability to lead effectively across organizational boundaries.
  • Employ a collaborative and cross-functional approach to accomplish objectives.
  • Experienced in developing team members to enhance their capabilities.
  • Maintain a positive outlook on building and extracting value from supplier relationships.
  • Demonstrated track record of establishing impactful KPIs and implementing innovative approaches to address performance gaps.
