Position : CSA Mechanical Assembler
Team : CSA
Reports to : Manufacturing Engineer Supervisor
Classification : Hourly, Non-Exempt
Position Summary : The Mechanical Assembler is expected to be able to perform mechanical assembly. In this position the employee is skilled in all aspects of mechanical assembly as well as visual inspection and packaging.
The employee is skilled at DIN rail assembling including cutting and punching, product modifications, jumpers, terminating cable wiring and specialty inkjet printing.
Each assembler can work alone and as part of the team and is able to produce effectively at each station or cell.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Cuts, saws & punches DIN rail and terminal housing.
- Assembles DIN mounted terminal assemblies per engineering drawings.
- Assembles product modifications and kits per engineering drawings.
- Compares product to drawing & industry standards.
- Houses & packages product to be shipped.
- Maintains consistent takt times and workflow.
- Supports and actively participates in the company’s continuous improvement program.
- Applies problem solving skills.
- Interacts agreeably with other employees.
- Performs other duties as required by management.
- Ensures thorough familiarity with and compliance to all Environmental, Safety and Security Policies while performing assigned duties in accordance with those policies such as ISO and OSHA standards.
- Ability to be cross trained in other areas if required.
Qualifications :
- Performs duties with minimal supervision.
- Capable of utilizing basic math skills : addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, working with fractions and decimals.
Able to understand and utilize metric and imperial measurements.
- Flexible and adaptable to fast changing environments.
- Must have the ability to meet established deadlines.
- Ability to write routine reports and fill out forms.
- Must be detail oriented with concern for accuracy, quality, safety, customer satisfaction and efficiency.
- Able to work overtime when required.
Education Requirements :
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
Knowledge & Experience Requirements :
- Proven mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
- Understand tolerances and torque values
- Experience with hand and power tools
- Familiar with measurement tools such as tape measure, calipers, and multimeter.
- Ability to read / write English.
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Strong math and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read, understand and convert metric / imperial measurements
Physical Requirements :
While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers with dexterity, reach with hands and arms, climb, bend, sit for long periods of time, concentrate, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, push, pull, crouch or crawl, talk, hear, speak, count, read and follow numeric sequences, read, lift up to 50 lbs.
