We are currently in search of a Mortgage Underwriting Supervisor who will be responsible for coaching, training, and directing the workflow for the Underwriting Department within our mortgage division.
Primary Responsibilities
- Serves as the direct supervisor to Underwriters within the department
- Assists Underwriters with daily tasks and questions concerning specific loan applications and loan programs
- Performs employee reviews, sets goals and performance objectives for each direct report
- Responsible for training the Underwriters
- Assists branches with underwriting questions, scenarios and problems specific to the loan files assigned
- Makes suggestions to the sales team on how to structure or restructure loans and provides suggestions on what can be obtained to satisfy outstanding conditions of the loan approval
- Underwrite loans as needed
- Limited job related travel may be required
- Qualifications
- At least 5 years of mortgage underwriting experience
- Leadership experience
- Experience reviewing Conventional Loans
- Obtained FHA DE (Direct Endorsed) Underwriting and / or VA credit underwriting / VA LAPP authority
- Bachelor's degree preferred
