Sous Chef
We're seeking a passionate Sous Chef for our dual property hotel, where you'll provide exceptional service across two distinctive environments.
Elevate your career in hospitality with us! Our brand new hotel conveniently located at the Reston Town Center Metrorail Station, the AC Hotel and Residence Inn Reston will open in October 2024 with 267 rooms including a Rooftop Bar and full service restaurant servicing breakfast, full and dinner.
The hotel will be equipped with over 10,000 square foot of meeting space, indoor heated pool and state of the art fitness center.
Compensation $70,000. - $75,000. annually
Position Summary
Responsible for supervising and overseeing all kitchen operations.
Essential Functions
1. Responsible for training all kitchen staff.
2. Ensure that the level of quality, portion control and plate presentation is adhered to consistently.
3. Ensure that daily checklists are being followed.
4. Consistently check all back-of-the-house areas for cleanliness and organization.
5. Prepare all food & supply orders.
6. Supervise daily food preparation for Banquets.
7. Complete monthly food stock inventory.
8. Maintain checkbook to manage spending.
9. Become and remain knowledgeable of all food service standards and procedures and ensure that they are always met or exceeded.
10. Coordinate with Food & Beverage Manager on weekly schedule.
11. Ensure rotation of daily breakfast and dinner specials.
12. Maintain waste log, time and temperature log.
13. Monitor and report any maintenance issues.
14. Ability to instill safety and sanitation habits in all employees.
15. Adhere to all work rules, procedures, and policies established by the hotel, including but not limited to, those contained in the employee handbook.
Education and Experience
Previous kitchen experience. (3 years)
Skills and Abilities
- Thorough knowledge of food handling and preparation techniques.
- Ability to motivate and train employees is guest services.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills.
